Covid-19 : The Role of Nutrition During Corona Pandemic.

Covid-19 is nothing but a leading challenge across the globe. Nowadays, every country over the globe is opting for important steps so that they could reduce the spread of COVID-19. The government has taken several steps such as self-quarantine and shutting down all business practices. People who are suffering from even minor respiratory problems such as inhaling or exhaling issues, cough, sneeze, fever, or any type of sickness are kept under isolation. Due to closed business practices nutrition is mainly affected as hotels and restaurant services are declining and food items are becoming less available.

Nutrition is very much important mainly when you are fighting with yourself i.e your immune system. Pre-cooked food is rich in sugars, fats, and other substances that can have a negative impact on your body. So, moving with processed food during self-quarantine will not be beneficial. A person could pursue a healthy solitary plan even with a few ingredients.
To fight against these problems WHO has created specific guidelines and measures to be taken during periods of self-isolation.

According to WHO, a balanced diet and hydration are most important. It advises eating seasonal fruits and vegetables, pulses, nuts, unsaturated fats, coconut oils, and whole grains like wheat, oats, brown rice, maize, millet, It recommends eating at least two cups of fruits, 2.5 cups of vegetables, 180 grams of grains, and 160 grams of beans daily. It also advises people to consume low-fat milk and dairy products.

TIPS FOR HEALTHY NUTRITION DURING SELF QUARANTINE

Draft your diet plan- It is critical to think about your own requirements, just as those of others especially during covid-19. First of all, survey what you as of now have at home and plan your admission. You may want to buy a lot of food sources, yet try to consider and use what is now in your storeroom. Make a proper list.

Get ready for home-prepared food-

During normal day life, people don’t have the opportunity to get ready for home-prepared dinners. Investing longer times of energy during isolation may now offer the people to make good things. Thousands of recipes and content are available on the web. So opt for a new recipe every day and stay away from processed food.
Be hydrated – Drinking is more important for well-being. As we know the human body is made up of 70% of water. It is likewise the most manageable, as it creates no waste, contrasted with filtered water. Drinking water rather than sugar-improved refreshments is a straightforward method to restrict your admission of diseases during quarantine

Eat sufficient fiber-

Fiber builds body framework and offers essential requirements during covid-19. To guarantee sufficient fiber consumption, eat vegetables, natural products, and wholegrain food varieties which are mostly found in each and every home during isolation.
Practice safe handle and sanitization- Due to the increase in the spread of infections and viruses there should be proper handling as well as sanitization of hands and proper washing of vegetables, other grocery items, etc.

Cutoff your salt intake-

The accessibility of new food varieties may diminish during the covid-19 period and it might consequently get important to depend more on canned, frozen, or handled food sources. Large numbers of these food sources contain significant degrees of salt. WHO suggests the intake of under 5 g of salt each day. To accomplish this, focus on food varieties with diminished or no added salt. You may likewise consider washing canned food sources like vegetables and beans, to eliminate a portion of the sodium. Salted food sources frequently contain many degrees of sodium as well.

There are many other activities and tips such as lower fat intake, a high protonated diet, and much more. The main focus should be on spreading awareness of causes, symptoms, and preventive measures to be taken during self-quarantine.

WHO suggests burning through at least 400 g (for example 5 bits) of products of the soil each day. Consuming citrus natural products like oranges, clementines and grapefruit are acceptable alternatives, just as bananas and apples, which can likewise be cut into more modest pieces and frozen for later utilization or to add to smoothies. Root vegetables like carrots, turnips, and beets, just as vegetables like cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower are moderately durable. Garlic, ginger, and onions are likewise incredible choices to keep at home during periods of isolation.

List of food items that could be stored during the self-quarantine period

  • Dried nuts and seeds
  • Eggs
  • Canned vegetables
  • Pulses
  • Wholegrains and spices
  • Frozen fruits

Food practices recommended to minimize the risk of contamination during Covid-19

  • Wash vegetables and fruits properly before eating.

  • Wash, rinse, and disinfect every object and surface around you, every time before and after use.

  • Keep cooked food and raw foods away from each other, as it would prevent the harmful microbes from raw foods from spreading to cooked foods.

  • Use different chopping boards and utensils for cooked and raw foods so that they don’t prevent cross-contamination.

  • Foodservice workers should use gloves while preparing food.

  • Frequently disinfect surfaces that came in contact with customers or workers such as grocery carts, doorknobs, counters.

A proper and healthy diet can ensure a good immune system that can resist any onslaught by the virus. A certain amount of nutrients saturates into cells and prevents us from any kind of nutritional deficiency. People consuming well-balanced diets appear to be safer with better and healthy immune systems and lower chances of chronic diseases and infections. Bike Repair – 5 Essential Ways to Reduce the Vibration in your Bike

Many motorcyclists complain about numbness in the hand due to high engine vibrations. For a smooth ride, a regular bike repair is very essential. Vibration is very common while riding a bike, but excess vibration can make the condition worse over a long ride.

If you notice extreme vibrations through the handgrips, footrest, or seat, you need to check your bike thoroughly. Inspect for any loose or damaged or missing parts. Worn-out tires can also be a reason behind the vibration. Sometimes, the bike will vibrate depending upon the design like a twin-cylinder or single will have more vibration than a multi-cylinder bike. If your bike vibrates upon acceleration could be due to the deranged tire or uneven tread or rear sprocket a twisted rim or spiking brake. To fix the vibration in your bike why not download the Onedios app and raise a request for a bike repair expert.

Here are few things you can do to reduce the vibration in your bike:

1.Replacing your air filters:

If your bike starts to vibrate excessively or you hear a bursting noise coming from the engine section, it could be due to the dirty air filter. This can damage the spark plug.  Therefore, clean the blocked filters regularly or replace them if required. If your bike repair is overdue for servicing, avoid the irritation and discomfort of bike breakdowns and malfunctions. Raise a service request on the OneDios App in a few clicks, without having to call multiple people or search for phone numbers.

2. Fill or replace your engine oil:

Lack of engine oil or old dirty oil can be a reason behind vibration. Oil is required to lubricate the parts of the engine. If there is less oil or the old oil gets thicken it won’t let the oil do its work. This can increase the bike vibration and can cause numbness in the hand.

3. Inspect your wheel chains:

When the chain is too tight it puts a burden on the engine. Excess of burden can create a high amount of engine strain. This can also vibrate the engine. Therefore, it is important to regularly lubricate and adjust the chain.

4. Structure of Disks and Brakes:

It is important to inspect the disks and brakes regularly. They should be aligned appropriately, to reduce vibration. When the brakes are tight, it losses the grip and also puts force on the rear wheel. This makes the bike run warmer, which increases the bike vibration.

 5. Valve Tappet noise:

For proper engine performance, the valve tappet should be at an appropriate setting. A regular bike repair expert will also check the setting of your valve tappets. The inappropriate fitting issues can be a reason for shaking or vibrations.

OneDios is a one-stop-shop for all your service, complaints, and repair requests. It even logs when you last got your bike serviced and parts replaced. Download the OneDios app and upload the details of your bike today. OneDios will help keep track of all your previous services and you can schedule the next maintenance of your bike in advance. You can also buy the extended warranty and AMC’s for all bike brands such as Hero, Bajaj, Yamaha, TVS Motors, Royal Enfield, etc.

Covid Vaccine : Effectiveness and Efficiency

You might be among the more than 138 million people in India who have taken at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine. Or you may still be waiting for your turn. Regardless, there’s a question on most of our minds: How long will the vaccine really protect us?

According to the report of Times of India, “Is vaccine really safe?” is second on the list of Top Ten Most Searched Questions on Google.

As with most aspects of the virus, the appropriate answer is not clear. Why? Because despite the fact that we have been battling the pandemic for over a year now. The vaccines were granted emergency use authorization relatively recently. So specialists have not had time to observe their long-term effectiveness till now.

According to some experts, When you get the vaccine, it takes some time for your body to build an immune response that’ll keep you protected and safe. Because of all these factors, Doctors are asking people not to let their guard down even after getting vaccinated.

In other words, it’ll take time for the vaccine to kick in, and we should still plan to play it safe after getting Vaccinated.

What happens to your body after getting a vaccine dose?

According to WHO, the COVID-19 vaccines produce protection against the virus, as a result of developing an immune response to the SARS-Cov-2 virus. Developing immunity with the help of vaccines means there is less risk of developing the illness and its consequences.

Different types of vaccines work in different ways in providing protection. Yet with all types of vaccines, the body is left with a supply of “memory” T-lymphocytes as well as B-lymphocytes that will remember how to battle that virus later on.

It usually takes 1-2 weeks after immunization for the body to create T-lymphocytes and B-lymphocytes. That’s why it’s possible that a person could be infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 just before or just after getting the vaccine dose and then get sick as the vaccine did not have enough time to provide protection and immunity.

In some cases after vaccination, the process of building immunity can cause symptoms, such as fever. These symptoms are absolutely normal and are signs that your body is building immunity.

Do some Vaccines Require More Than One Shot?

To be fully safe and protected, you will need two shots of some COVID-19 vaccines.

  • Two shots: Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines offer two shots.  You are considered fully vaccinated and protected, two weeks after your second shot If you get a COVID-19 vaccine that offers two shots,
  • One-Shot: Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine only offers one shot. If you get a COVID-19 vaccine that offers one shot, you are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after your shot.

If it has been less than two weeks since your shot, or if you still need to get your second shot, you are NOT at all fully protected. Keep taking all prevention steps until you are completely vaccinated.

Precautions to be taken after getting vaccine shot.

Even though most of the vaccines that are being used across the country have undergone multiple trials and have been found to be effective in these trial phases. But we still don’t know if these vaccines offer complete immunity or not. We don’t even know how long the vaccines will continue to be effective for us. For now, we can all take heart in the fact that the vaccines will help us fight against the coronavirus.

Here are a few precautions for COVID-19 that all responsible citizens should follow even after vaccination-

  • Continue maintaining social distancing and avoid crowded places like malls, restaurants, and markets, etc.
  • Please don’t forget to wear a mask and sanitize your hands.
  • Encourage and help others as much as you can to register for the vaccination.

Vaccination is one of many steps that you can take to protect yourself and others from COVID-19.  Protection from this virus is critically important as for some people, COVID-19 can cause a serious problem or even death.

Ending this pandemic requires using all the tools available. Vaccines work with your immune system so that your body will be ready to battle against the virus if you are exposed.

Car service –  Top 6 Ways for Maintaining Your Car’s Air Conditioning Unit

Air conditioning is very essential to keep your car cool and relaxed during scorching heat. A regular car service will ensure that your cooling system is working efficiently. The car depends on its air conditioning system to eradicate heat and provide a comfortable driving atmosphere. When the car is parked under the harsh sun, the interior gets boiled up on shocking levels. If you are facing issues with your Car AC, download the Onedios app and raise a service request. We also provide roadside assistance coverage to make your life easy.

Here are a few tips to maintain your car’s AC during summer:

1.Clean your car:

With time, dirt and bacteria accumulate in the car’s air conditioning system. The bacteria in the car can harm your health and the odor is very bad too. Therefore, it is important to clean and dust your car on a regular basis to prevent the accumulation of debris. You should also check for leaves getting sucked inside the cooling system and blocking it. For cleaning or vacuuming your car, why not download Onedios and call for a car service expert.

2. Check the level of Refrigerant:

To keep an AC working efficiently, you should check the level of refrigerant regularly. A low refrigerant will reduce the performance of the cooling system. In this case, schedule an appointment with a car service expert by downloading the Onedios app and avoid the irritation and discomfort of car breakdowns and malfunctions.

3. Clean the Air Filter:

A blocked air filter is responsible for your AC not working properly. A clean filter avoids the evaporator coil from getting dirty faster. Over a period of time, this coil accumulates dirt and due to this dirt the airflow reduces, this makes the cooling system motor work harder than usual. Therefore, clean the air filter on a regular basis.

4. Park your car in the shade:

It is very important not to park your car in the harsh sunlight. Always park your car in a covered area or a proper parking space, this will make the car’s air conditioning system work efficiently and will cool your car quickly. You can also cover your leather seats with a cotton bed sheet or something which doesn’t generate heat.

5. Service your Car AC regularly:

Another important thing is to take an expert’s help to tune up your car’s AC. If a car’s air conditioning unit is serviced at regular intervals, this will enhance the performance of your AC. OneDios is a one-stop-shop for all your service, complaints, and repair requests. Our Car service expert will refill the gas and oil of all the components to make sure they work effectively.

Immune System: Boost Immunity in the second wave of covid

With all the concerns about rising cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), we need to look at what we can do to support our Immune system. It’s the time to look at our lifestyle and see what we are capable of changing. Proper hand sanitation and wearing a mask is the number one method of control, but what else can we do?

Let’s take a look at what we can do to nourish our bodies and keep our immune systems strong.

Nutritional Diet

The food you eat plays a significant role in determining your overall health and immune system. It’s high time to increase nutritious food in your daily lifestyle.  One can include whole plant-based foods like green vegetables, colorful fruits, seeds, nuts, and pulses which are rich in nutrients and antioxidants that help to fight against harmful disease.

Food to boost the Immune system:

Vitamin C Rich Food– Food such as Lemon, oranges, broccoli, spinach, kale is considered to be best for our immune system. Daily intake of vitamin C is very essential for good health, skin, hair, and our immune system because your body doesn’t produce or store it. The best part is we don’t need a supplement for vitamin C, as it is present in many foods

Vitamin E-rich food– It is a powerful antioxidant that helps the body fight off infection and other diseases. Foods rich in vitamin E include nuts, spinach, and seeds.

Ginger –  Ginger contains gingerol which could help fight infections and other diseases.

Tulsi leaves – Tulsi is rich in zinc and plays an essential role in keeping our immune system in check if consumed daily. We can soak them in drinking water, as it adds a refreshing taste to water and is commonly known as an immunity booster.

Giloy – Giloy is a powerful anti-inflammatory herb that can provide many immunity benefits without any side effects.

Sleep, Sleep, and More Sleep

Good snooze time for 7-9 hours is the best way to help your body build immunity. By not sleeping for enough time, we increase stress and hurt our immunity system. Because sleeping is important for our immune system, we need to let ourselves sleep as much as we need. It’s is a great way to reboot your body and mind and needless to say your immune system.

Poor sleep can increase blood pressure, inflammation, hunger, weight gain, cardiovascular disease, as well as the poor immune system.

You can listen to soothing music or read your favorite book for a good sleep.

Stay Hydrated for a better immune system

It’s common to hear that drinking water is very essential for our body. But do you know why?

It’s a fact you’ve been hearing since your school … “Your body is made up of 70% water.” So, it makes sense that not having enough water in your body can result in health consequences- Dehydration.

Water helps to carry oxygen to cells of the body, which in turn helps in the proper functioning of our body. Experts recommend drinking at least 2-3 liters of water daily to stay healthy and keep the immune system in check. During this time, try to increase your water intake. Plain water is always the best, but if you find it difficult to drink 8 glasses of water in a day then you can simply try lemon or mint water or other detox homemade drinks. They are also beneficial for health equally.

Watch that Stress

Stress is different for everybody and how to relieve it, too. According to research, long-term stress can cause severe health problems, and it can impact our immune system. You can practice deep breathing, meditation, prayer, exercise, read your favorite novel or listen to soothing and relaxing music.

Soak in some vitamin D for your Immune system

Vitamin D plays an essential role in fighting against diseases. During the pandemic, it becomes necessary to include Vitamin-D-rich foods in your diet. Some of the reports state that vitamin D not only improves your immune system but also reduces the risk of getting infected. It also helps to reduce the chances of developing heart disease. Usually, our body itself creates vitamin D from direct sunlight on the skin, but due to covid, we mostly stayed in our homes, so you should increase the amount of vitamin D in your diet.

Stay Active Physically and Mentally.

It will be a great help for your immune system if you stay active. Low levels of physical activity can have negative signs on your health. Regular exercise plays a vital role in keeping your body active all day long. It helps in maintaining weight, reducing stress, and improves immunity too. Physical activity helps to reduce stress and anxiety, which in turn keeps your mind stable and active. It is necessary to stay active physically and mentally, especially when you are facing a pandemic.

Apart from following a proper healthy lifestyle, the Indian health ministry has also suggested few organic and natural ways to practice in order to fight against COVID-19. The Ministry of AYUSH has recommended the following self-care routine to keep your Immune system in check:

  • Drink as much warm water as you can throughout the day.
  • Inhale steam with Caraway seeds and Mint leaves.
  • Practice Meditation, Yoga, daily.
  • Increase your intake of Turmeric, Cumin, Coriander, ginger, and garlic.
  • Drink herbal tea of basil, Cinnamon, Black pepper, Dry Ginger.
  • Avoid sugar and replace it with jaggery or Dates sugar.
  • Apply Ghee, or Coconut oil in both nostrils to keep the nostrils clean.

While our Health care workers are fighting against the Covid-19, we can do a little bit by limiting our exposure to the virus by staying at our homes, maintaining social distancing, eating nutritious and healthy food, stay hydrated, and following the basic hygiene protocol.

Whether you’re taking a virtual class, working from home, or practicing physical distancing for you and your family’s safety, we’re all dealing with a new normal together. This might be easy for some, but studying and working from home is unusual for many. It’s been over a year since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Like many other countries, India is also facing a sudden increase in daily cases, even after the vaccination drive. As compared to 2020, the daily cases are rising at a very high rate and over 2 lakh people tested positive in the last 2 days in India. This indicates that 2nd wave of COVID-19 has arrived. Doctors and experts figured out that this year, the younger generation is also getting infected, and most of them have least to no symptoms. This situation has caused many people around the world to feel anxious and stressed about becoming infected.  You can stay safe and healthy by simply following some protocols.

During day-to-day activities, people can take the following measures to prevent infection and stay safe, in accordance with WHO guidelines:

1. Wear mask properly and stay safe

Wearing a mask is the new normal. But people do not know or follow how to wear a mask properly, as masks have become an important part of our lives. So, wearing it properly should be the top priority to stay safe. First of all, clean your hands before you put your mask on. As well as before and after you take it off, and after you touch it each time. Your mask should cover your nose, mouth, and chin. When you take off your mask, put it in a clean plastic bag. Wash your mask every day if it’s a fabric one, or dispose of the mask if it’s a medical one.

2. Sanitize your hands regularly

You can get infected by the virus if you are touching something that has a virus present on it and then you touch your eyes, nose, or mouth. The probability of getting infected by this is less but still, it is possible. So, wash your hands properly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after coming from any public place, or after coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not available to you, use a hand sanitizer containing at least 60% of alcohol. Also avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands to stay safe from the virus.

3. Maintain Social Distancing

Make sure to maintain at least a 1-meter distance between yourself and others. This will reduce the risk to get infected, if people around you are coughing or sneezing while speaking try to maintain a greater distance from them to stay safe. Basic Tips You Need To Know for Car Maintenance

Whether you just bought a car or you are driving one for a longer period, some certain car maintenance tips can help you and your car to run smoothly and efficiently. Regularly maintaining your car helps to keep your car in good condition. It also helps to ensure your safety and the safety of fellow passengers as well. Although car maintenance may not be so pocket-friendly, some tips will surely cut down your expenses.

Here are some tips that will help you in running your car smoothly:

1. Inspect your vehicle regularly

You should give your car a walk-around inspection at least once a day every week. You should check your car and look for any damages to the body of the car. Check your tires for any wear and tears, punctures, cuts, test your locks, car windows, and even the sunroof of the car.

2. Check your car’s air filter

When your car’s air filter is blocked or is fitted loosely, lots of problems can arise.  Air filter helps in blocking dust, pollen, and other particles to make sure your engine runs smoothly and efficiently. The dirty air filter can reduce the airflow into the engine, which can reduce the performance of your car and also decrease the fuel economy. It’s recommended to replace the air filter of your car every 10,000-15,000 km of distance. This will keep your car maintained and it will last longer.

3. Clean your engine regularly

To keep your car maintained, it is very important to keep your car’s exterior engine as clean as possible. If it is not cleaned properly, even minor debris can damage your car’s engine. For example, while checking the brake fluid, grease can fall into it and can damage the brakes. So, you must ensure you check your brake fluid levels at least once every month.

4. Check your Car’s battery

Your car’s battery is one of the most important components required for the smooth functioning of the car.  Your car battery is responsible for providing a large amount of electrical current that will help to start your car and also help to provide electricity to other electronic accessories available in your vehicle. Extreme temperature can affect the performance of the battery so you should regularly test the battery and make sure that the battery is performing well. This will also help you to keep your car maintained.

5. Check your car’s balancing

The accurate rotation of tires is important to maintain the safety and performance of your car. It helps to give your car good steering control and a smooth ride. Balanced rotation of tires helps to extend the life of the tires and reduce wear and tears which is the key step to keep your car maintained. You should also monitor the tire pressure of your car every month and even when you are going on long trips.

6. Check your Car’s oil level

There are a lot of moving parts in your car’s engine that create friction as they move along with each other. The heat generated from the friction can lead to a reduction in the performance of your car’s engine. You can hear loud noises from your car’s engine and experience a reduction in fuel economy. You should check the engine oil level as it is important to keep your car maintained. It is also important to look at the color of the oil. It should not be black. The dark color is a sign of the presence of pollutants, excessive heat, and the addition of chemicals.
